Mr. Castillo has over twenty five years of experience in all aspects and phases of design of architectural and interiors projects including management and documentation of high-end hospitality, commercial, and adaptive re-use projects. He has executed the design of several thousand square feet of space, specializing in the strategic development, planning, management and delivery of Hospitality Interior projects. He has worked for several large interior design firms including Rockwell Group, Friedmutter Group, JCJ Architecture, Gwathmey Seigel, and Pei Cobb Freed & Partners.
Some of Mr. Castillo's most notable projects while at Ismael Leyva Architects include residential projects at 66 Rockwell and 155 West Street in Brooklyn; Hunters Point South in LIC; Tribeca Royale and the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in New York City.
His responsibilities at Ismael Leyva Architects include providing interior design leadership and design expertise while leading the interior design team providing design direction of the firm's design operations covering Residential, Mixed-use, Hospitality and Commercial projects. Mr. Castillo is also experienced in project estimating, cost analysis, feasibility studies, construction management, marketing and client/developer presentations. Mr. Castillo has extensive knowledge in the development of strategies for leisure hospitality multi-use venues, grand scale retail, food and beverage and new hotel location opportunities.
